Disability Rights Action Days – A journey through spaces

Events
Aktionstage Behindertenrechte – Raumreisen
On Tuesday, 21 May, Kunsthalle Basel and Stiftung Rheinleben offer a journey through spaces and a day of artistic encounters as part of Disability Rights Action Days.

1 – 4 pm
A journey through spaces 1: Creative encounters between people with and without psychological impairment, in German
A Journey through Spaces 1 is a joint creative workshop during which we will be guests in the Foyer Public of Theater Basel. On this afternoon we will experience the spaces of Theater Basel in a new way and change our perspective. We will look for pleasant places and safe spaces, asking ourselves what makes them special, how they sound and smell. Together we will make scented candles to create our own feel-good space.
Meeting point: Foyer Public Theater Basel

3 – 4 pm and 4 – 5 pm
A journey through spaces 2: Behind the scenes at Theater Basel, in German
A Journey through Spaces 2 is a joint tour behind the scenes of Theater Basel. The tour will take place twice due to the limited number of participants.
Meeting point: Foyer Public Theater Basel

6.30 – 9 pm
A journey through spaces 3: Film screening and panel discussion, in German
A journey through spaces 3 shows the film “GLEICH UND ANDERS – wenn die Psyche uns fordert” by Jürg Neuenschwander at Stadtkino Basel, followed by a panel discussion on work life.
Meeting point: Stadtkino Basel

Free of charge, materials will be provided.

The artistic events will raise awareness of psychological impairment and mark the start of a long-term joint project with Stiftung Rheinleben. Several workshops will take place between May and December 2024. The results will be presented to the public in December 2024.

The offer takes place as part of the Disability Rights Action Days.

These events are a cooperation between Kunsthalle Basel, Stiftung Rheinleben, GLEICH UND ANDERS, Foyer Public Theater Basel, and Stadtkino Basel.
