The Museum-PASS-Musées celebrates its 25th anniversary!

There are some changes for the anniversary year 2024/2025: The Museum-PASS-Musées is changing its design and logo. The new design has a modern look and reflects the variety of museums that can be accessed with the Museums-PASS-Musées. In addition, "MPM Days" are planned in various towns in the region, during which Museum Pass holders can take part in a series of events organized by the participating museums. For a certain period, pass holders will also receive exclusive admission prices to 3 partner museums outside the area covered by the pass.

Founded in 1999 as the world's first tri-national museum pass, the association has been able to expand its offer considerably over the last 25 years: whereas in 1999 it was only possible to visit 120 museums, today there are over 350 museums, castles and gardens in Germany, France and Switzerland.

As a result of several territorial expansions beyond the original Upper Rhine region into the Stuttgart area, Franche-Comté, Lorraine and the canton of Bern, the pass changed its name from Upper Rhine Museum Pass to Museums-PASS-Musées in 2014.

During the pandemic, the association worked on digitizing the offer. In addition to virtual exhibition tours, it has been offering an app since October 2023 on which the museum program can be accessed from a smartphone. In future, the dematerialized museum pass will also be accessible there.

Today, around 45,000 people in Germany, France and Switzerland use the Museum PASS-Musées.
