Special exhibition: Art & Design. Hans Theo Baumann on his 100th birthday
On May 18, 2025, Siegert Kittel will once again guide visitors through the special exhibition dedicated to Hans Theo Baumann. Hans Theo Baumann has had a decisive influence on design in the Federal Republic of Germany from the post-war period to the present day. He developed designs in collaboration with more than 50 companies that have been produced for decades - in some cases to this day - and thus wrote design history. Both his approach and his training were broad-based, his aspirations and his work were holistic. His knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials and his experience was comprehensive in almost all areas: glass, ceramics, porcelain, furniture, cutlery, lighting, plastic products, textiles and artistic works. Today, his works can be found in museums in Hamburg, Munich, Cologne, Karlsruhe, Coburg and New York. The Museum am Lindenplatz provides an insight into all of his creative areas.
