Special exhibition at the Museum of City History Breisach from June 6 to October 6, 2024
The Breisach Festival has been an integral part of the cultural life of the town and the entire region for 100 years and has delighted countless people for a century thanks to the playful performances against the historic natural backdrop of Breisach's Münsterplatz and Schlossberg. The Breisach History Museum looks back on 100 years of the Breisach Festival and guides visitors through the impressive and eventful history of the Breisach Festival. Founded in the midst of the crises of the Weimar Republic, the festival experienced an enormous upswing, abruptly interrupted by the Second World War, was able to be reanimated with determination, continue the upswing and establish itself with great vigor over the decades. The exhibition presents the diverse repertoire of classical to modern Breisach performances, as well as the involvement of children and young people in the "Junges Theater" and clearly shows why hundreds of people of all ages have been coming together again and again for 100 years to enjoy the performances on one of the largest open-air stages in Baden-Württemberg.
