The newly designed east wing of the permanent exhibition hall was opened just in time for the UNIMA (Union Internationale de la Marionnette) International World Puppetry Day. "Gustaf and his ensemble" became part of the Museum of Puppet Theater Culture. The marionette art of Prof. Albrecht Roser
(1921 - 2011) was universal: whether marionette star clown Gustaf, Roser's furiously dancing cloth puppets or the babbling, knitting grandma from Stuttgart - they were understood worldwide. Organized by the Goethe-Institut, Roser travelled all continents with "Gustaf and his Ensemble" for decades (27 overseas tours!) as an ambassador for a new art of puppetry. His artistic legacy to the PuK Museum ranges from small paper models, complete television ensembles ("Der starke Wanja") and workshop studies to large-scale sculptures.
