The artist Daniel Wagenblast, who now lives in Stuttgart, has devoted himself entirely to sculpture as a painter. For many years, he has been creating his typified figures and objects in various sizes, made of wood, bronze or aluminum.
His sculptural work sees itself as a search for the right measure for observing the environment. With quiet irony, the artist tells of longing and the will to conquer imaginative worlds. Dream-like depictions, symbolic images that consist of seemingly surreal combinations of the world of things, but at the same time open up new levels of meaning. From quiet criticism of the hierarchies in the system, to subtle attacks on human behavior, to almost cynical statements on contemporary history - Wagenblast's sculptures playfully depict the human condition.
