The Ladenburg Reichsbanner Black-Red-Gold
100 years ago, on November 2, 1924, the Ladenburg chapter of the Reichsbanner Schwarz-Rot-Gold was founded, a non-partisan protective association of the SPD, DDP and Zentrum in the political life of the Roman city since the mid-1920s.

As in many German cities, the Reichsbanner also supported the policies of the three democratic parties of the "Weimar Coalition" in Ladenburg through marches, educational evenings and republican rallies and used the colors of the new black, red and gold imperial flag introduced in 1919 to promote the goals of the young republic. In the early 1930s, as domestic politics became more radical, the Reichsbanner organized the protection of the halls at the democratic parties' election events and also tried, albeit unsuccessfully, to protect the fragile republic from the increasing terror of its enemies "on the street" in the "Iron Front".

The exhibition is based on the documents, flags, badges and uniform parts of the Ladenburg local group that were rescued from the National Socialists and are now kept in the district archive and the Lobdengau Museum.
