The Lobdengau Museum pays tribute to his achievements in the special exhibition "Berndmark Heukemes (1924 - 2009) Archaeologist - Monument Conservator - Honorary Citizen". Among other things, a video from the 1950s is shown in which Professor Heukemes discovers archaeological finds from the air with a US Army helicopter.
