Curator's Choice - a selection of our highlights
This presentation offers you a very special selection of our highlights on paper from the Graphic Art Collection. From delicate pencil drawings, ink drawings and colorful watercolors to woodcuts and etchings, you will find a wide variety of artistic techniques. This presentation of selected highlights exemplifies the entire spectrum of our comprehensive collection, the largest collection of prints and drawings in Rhineland-Palatinate. Works on paper by Albrecht Dürer and Max Beckmann or Ludwig Lindenschmit the Elder and Käthe Kollwitz, for example, show artists from the Renaissance to the present day. As it is difficult to make a selection due to the wealth of the extensive collection, such a project is always shaped by the curator's personal preferences, a "curator's choice" so to speak. This is why one of the curator's favorite works, Emil Orlik's woodcut "Two Japanese", cannot be missing from the presentation.
