Walter Schnebele (1920-2008) grew up on the Thomashof estate near Durlach and began working as a freelance photographer in 1953. During his career, he worked all over the world, but Durlach remained the center of his life until his death. He was also an attentive observer with his camera in his home town and captured life in Durlach in numerous photographs.
With the special exhibition "With a feel for the moment. The Durlach photographer Walter Schnebele", the Pfinzgaumuseum provides an insight into Schnebele's work. The focus is on motifs from Durlach, ranging from everyday scenes and events to well-known buildings in the old town.
Schnebelle's work is characterized by his sensitive feeling for the small, often unnoticed moments of everyday life. With a sensitive eye, he captures the special quality of these moments and lends them a fascinating expressiveness. His photographs develop a magic of their own and touch the viewer with their naturalness and intimacy.
