Where once magnificent vessels, jewelry and weapons lay, often only bones remain - scattered, broken and forgotten. This is the picture that emerges where grave robbers were at work. But their motives are often more complex than it seems at first glance. The exhibition sheds light on the phenomenon of grave robbery from the Celts to the present day, from Europe to South America: Grave robbers are a reflection of human society, with all its abysses, hopes and longings. In the end, the stories of disturbed burial sites reveal more about us than we want to admit.
