In his mostly large-format oil paintings, Stefan Bircheneder takes a photorealistic approach to industrial ruins and abandoned workplaces. The depiction of social spaces within production facilities provides insights into the private lives of factory workers. The trompe-l'oeil variations of locker doors or shower cubicles are astonishing in their attention to detail.
