Virginie Lhomme Fontaine was born in northern France in 1968 and has been a self-taught draughtswoman since childhood. After her first solo exhibition in 2001 at the Galerie des Artistes, Paris XIV, some of her works were already included in important collections.
In the same year, she was awarded the prestigious Taylor Foundation Prize. Her artworks accompany her on her travels around the world, where she participates in numerous international art fairs.
Virginie Lhomme Fontaine's paintings transport the viewer into a sensitive and fleeting, almost lyrical world. In her works, female figures often explore a colorful, poetic environment in which figuration and abstraction intermingle. She works in series that can merge into one another over time. Virginie Lhomme Fontaine represents a gentle and sensual expressionism.
