The Gallery of Prints and Drawings houses almost 150,000 graphic works, including 3,000 drawings, as well as a large collection of engravings. Representative of the tradition of multiplying an image by stamping (printmaking or engraving), the collection features works from the end of the 15th century to the middle of the 19th century.
These works are from a wide variety of schools, including Italian, German (Dürer, Baldung Grien), French and Dutch. It is also a representative collection of the different techniques used in engraving: woodcuts, burin engravings and lithographs.
The Gallery of Prints and Drawings is committed to making its collections available digitally, and these are available on our collections portal: https://musees-strasbourg.skin-web.org/
The Gallery of Prints and Drawings is accessible by appointment only.
