The festival hall of Bonndorf Castle hosts concerts by international musicians, readings by renowned German authors as well as exhibitions of classical modernism and contemporary art. The focus is on the development of art in the southern Baden region.
The most important exhibitions of the past years were the ‘Brücke' (bridge), ‘Blauer Reiter' (blue rider), Erich Heckel, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Käthe Kollwith, Franz Radziwill, Oskar Schlemmer and Christo and Jeanne-Claude. The latest concerts were by ‘Musica Antiqua Köln', the Leipzig Streichquartett, the Gewandhaus Quartett, the Mandelring Quartett, the American String Quartett as well as the Angell Piano Trio. Literary guests included Peter Bichsel, Durs Grünbein, Peter Härtling, Thomas Hürlimann, Adolf Muschg, Dieter Wellershoff and Urs Widmer.
