On Sunday, September 8, 2024 at 3 pm, the Städtische Galerie Offenburg invites you to a guided tour of the current exhibition "Behind The Wall".

The sisters Claudia (*1964) & Julia Müller (*1965) have been working together as a duo since 1992. Originally coming from drawing, the artists are constantly expanding the pictorial background, from paper to the wall, to fabric, to objects, analog and digital.

In the exhibition "Behind The Wall", specially conceived for the Städtische Galerie Offenburg, the Schweitzer artists take up the symmetrical architecture of the exhibition rooms. Two huge fabric pictures enclose the atmospheric rooms like bouncers - it begins where it ends. The exhibition features recurring themes by Claudia & Julia Müller: human relationships, social structures, intimacy and rejection. In their works, the artists combine hard and soft contrasts and, with their fields of tension, encourage us to think beyond the boundaries of the familiar.

The exhibition presents works from over two decades that have retained a timeless thematic relevance in a remarkable way.
