The gathering of 900 people on September 12, 1847 and their demands for more freedom and equality were a harbinger of what would become reality just a few months later: Revolution.
But not only Friedrich Hecker and Gustav Struve were influential, people from and around Offenburg also committed their lives to the fight for change.
Who were these people? How did they come to become revolutionaries? What did they do with the revolution and what did the revolution do to them? How did they fare after the failed struggle? In this guided tour, we get to the bottom of revolutionary lives.
