For decades, Hubert Rieber, who lives in Furtwangen in the Black Forest, has been known for his portraits of people made of wood and metal, reduced to the essentials, in the strictest form and with the highest level of craftsmanship. A master student of Wilhelm Loth at the Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe, he has exhibited his work in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including at St. Martin's Church in Müllheim in 2000. In the new special exhibition at the Markgräfler Museum, he will show us images of people and thus provide us with images of ourselves.
