The new theme of the annual inclusive art project was proposed by caregivers from the 11 participating partner institutions. Five works that can be associated with a vision of paradise were selected from the museum collection. They were created in the 20th century. Three contemporary works recently created by artists from Lörrach complete the selection. These eight inspired the 70 participating artists with disabilities from the Dreiland region. At a meeting in Wenkenpark in Riehen, followed by several museum visits, they were able to view the works and share what they associate with the theme of paradise. Tranquillity, infinity, lightness, peace and happiness were the terms most frequently mentioned.
The artists then worked on their personal and collective works, which will be shown in the exhibition in the Hebelsaal of the Dreiländermuseum, accompanied by a supporting program.
The project is supported by the Trinational Eurodistrict Basel (TEB) and 9 institutions for people with disabilities in the region.
