Europe's only museum dedicated to an architect, the Claude Nicolas Ledoux Museum focuses on the work of the creator of the Saline Royale.
Some sixty models provide a glimpse into the life of an architect of whom few buildings have survived, either because they were never built, or because they were destroyed by time and man.
The tour reveals a multi-faceted body of work (theaters, town houses, octroi buildings, etc.), which is also revealed in dream projects with a sometimes utopian feel (the ideal town of Chaux, a cemetery, a pleasure house, schools, prisons, industrial buildings, etc.).
