Gareth Jones, a young Welsh journalist, smuggled himself into the Ukraine in March 1933. The region was experiencing a famine unprecedented in its scale and causes. This famine, kept secret and decided by Stalin, was political. On his return, the journalist alerted the world, but Soviet lies and manipulation triumphed. This is the story of the power of investigation and the spoken word against the state apparatus. It's the story of a crime and a mass lie.
