Documentary film
Film by Elisabeth Kapnist (2021, 60 min). In the presence of the director and Chloé Réjon (Céleste à l'écran). Screening in partnership with Le Lieu documentaire and INA. As part of Strasbourg World Book Capital.

This film plunges into the intimate life of the world's most famous French writer. It's also the story of an exceptional relationship, an unlikely meeting between a socialite and a young peasant girl from Lozère: Céleste Albaret. In 1973, at the age of 82, Céleste agreed to recount the extraordinary life she shared with the writer. It's a never-before-seen portrait of the man who shook up the literary landscape with his three-thousand-page cathedral work, À la recherche du temps perdu.
