Jean Alessandrini made his debut with Pilote in 1969, at a time when René Goscinny's magazine was undergoing a major transformation, welcoming a more committed approach and a wider range of genres after the shock of May 68. Ten years later, he began a lasting collaboration with J'aime Lire, for the Catholic and much wiser-looking Bayard publishing house. The talk will attempt to draw a link between these two moments, these two publications, to show how Jean Alessandrini built a narrative and graphic work around science fiction, childhood and time, in a crucial decade for children's literature.
