Manor Art Prize 2024
Ishita Chakraborty (*1989) is the winner of the Manor Art Prize (Aarau) 2024, which is awarded every two years to promote young Swiss art. In her artistic practice, Chakraborty deals with displacement, colonial trauma and identity politics. She explores strategies and discourses of resistance, often narrated by marginalized people. Her work encompasses a variety of media, from installations and murals to sound and poetry. In her latest works, she explores how we make the world habitable even as our landscapes suffer the consequences of overuse, racial discrimination and climate crisis.
