The Schlössli in Blansingen

This exhibition is available in
German
Miniature exhibition in the foyer of the Efringen-Kirchen town hall
The house in Blansingen is inconspicuous - Alemannenstrasse 16, on the corner of Im Södli. An old building, okay, you can see that. What you can't see is that the house was built as a defensive structure, a fortified house, a quasi-castle in the inner village.

At some point, Margravine Magdalena Wilhelmina bought the house, and in 1708 she turned it into a foundation: poor widows of parish priests were to find accommodation here, at least two of them. There were many more widows of priests in Baden-Durlach.

Our mini-exhibition is about both: about the house and about pastors' wives who are left with nothing after the death of their husbands.

The exhibition accompanies our part in the Stadt.Land.Kultur project: www.museum.de/stadt. The Schlössli is hidden behind the POI Efringen-Kirchen no. 104.
Die Ausstellung wird gezeigt im Foyer des Rathauses Efringen-Kirchen, Hauptstrasse 26,
und kann während der regulären Rathaus-Öffnungszeiten besucht werden.
Der Eintritt ist frei.
